chrisaldrich snarfed: I always see that problem (https://snarfed.org/2017-01-23_what-i-work-on#comment-2602680) too, and it's always with backfed emoji in posts (typically from facebook or twitter). I'm wondering if it isn't an issue with the encoding settings in my/our SQL databases?
