[Lewis_Cowles] As a short-range alternative; I sometimes carry around an IT-crowd style bubble-net which is dnsmasq, dhcpd, hostapd. I have a script to bridge it to the internet, but it's illegal for me to provide internet to third parties or operate a broadcast network. It's a homebrew solution so has many warts, but the parts such as dnsmasq can easily be switched to services such as bind, incorporate nginx, other network software for fun & hijinks. You'd
