jamietanna[m]Yesterday's goal was met - get my git history ready to be shared with the world for my Micropub endpoint (which I forgot to then share publicly - task for later)
beko[m]Discovered http://fetchrss.com that is able to parse public FB pages to RSS (without access_token). It comes with a plan (or injects ads) but yeah that's basically exactly what I need for my Microsub to just stay in the loop with my handful of pages that only post on FB and don't syndicate elsewhere.
beko[m]FB mails don't reach me a lot. They tend to end up on blacklists for violating best practises. I've my own mailserver going so I'm not with the big 5. Not going to soften this up for FB since it keeps a shiton of spammers out.
beko[m]fetchrss also has an element picker alowing to add any website with some sort of structure to the feed. Neat neat. Granary is probably similar but definetly not that userfriendly 🙂
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "instagram atom" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "instagram atom is ____", a sentence describing the term)
vika_nezrimayaHm. Assume I'm checking in @ McDonald's or Burger King or KFC or something similar. Can I make one h-card with several geo objects or should I make every single fast food venue from the same chain I'm going to a separate h-card?
vika_nezrimaya(lol Chick-fil-A should totally consider expanding in Russia with its conservative political stance - are my memories of them being zealously religious and conservative correct?)
ZegnatFor sure. But in the specific context of checking in, surely you are checking in to a specific venue? Just so happens to be a venue of a big chain. (The local venue may or may not be a locally operated franchise even, hard to know.)
ZegnatTheoretically (though this is probably not going to be consumed anywhere), I guess you could have a page that is h-card for McD global. And then make every p-location an embedded h-card rather than just h-geo.

[snarfed]facebook-atom is different (and imho more useful) in that it gets your *news feed*, not just single public pages, which usually aren't people you care about anyway
[snarfed]queryfeed.net looks nice too, but similar drawback: it only generates feeds for individual accounts and searches, not your full feed (ie everyone you follow)
[snarfed]honestly if i found other services that generated RSS for your full FB/IG/Twitter news feeds, i'd *love* to switch to them and decommission *-atom entirely. i just still haven't seen any yet. 😐
[snarfed]skimming https://queryfeed.net/pages/ (their blog) is amusing. Instagram has blocked geo-pages, Deprecation of Google Plus and Facebook feeds, Instagram outage, Troubles with Instagram, again, Instagram feeds work, Troubles with Instagram feeds
beko[m][snarfed]: I did explicitly look for a FB page feed that does not require a token. I did not get this to work with yours. I'm not interested in an FB account whatsoever at all [as long as syndication and backfeeds are gone]. Just don't want to miss out on a handful of pages.
beko[m]It's just that particular scene is basically hiding inside FB. I'd be out of the loop in no time 😕 It's a shame but that's how it is. No, nothing kinky 😉
