#rrixI think it was just me at the HWC Seattle tonight, I've been working on a set of blog posts about my work in/adjacent to indieweb stuff and it's starting to come together

#[tantek]Google PageSpeed Insights is a web-based page analysis tool run by [[Google]] that loads a page, its necessary resources, analyzes its performance and other factors and provides a score (based on [[Google Lighthouse]] performance).
#Loqi[Tantek Çelik] #ViewSource @jorydotcom question for #standards panelists:
What is one way your standards group is more “open” (access, cost, license, patents, D&I etc.) than another standards org (e.g. pick one that Jory mentioned yesterday)?
#aaronpkI'm excited for NYC even if I can't be there!
nitot, [dougbeal], [Rose], gareppa, M3baidDiscord[m], M3baidDiscord[m4, M3baidDiscord[m7, jbove, krychu, t-mo and [snarfed] joined the channel; M3baidDiscord[m4 left the channel
#[snarfed]short answer is probably that moderation is best done in people's sites, not in services like bridgy. one caveat is that bridgy obeys silo block lists, at least twitter's, so alternatively he could block the users there.
#aaronpkhmm yeah, that's tricky. I agree that ideally it should be done on ppls' websites, but I think most tools don't currently have very good support for that, other than maybe wordpress+akismet.
kensp and wolftune joined the channel
#aaronpkI did build a rudimentary block feature into webmention.io, which is kind of but not quite the same idea
#aaronpkI think the webmention.io block feature might only work on specific URLs or whole domains, so wouldn't work in this case
#[snarfed]yeah the not-great-support point is well taken. that may still be an argument _for_ pushing on sites themselves, though, since if we add it to services, it reduces the pressure to add it to sites where it belongs
#[snarfed](that pressure point is a bit subtle, but applies broadly, at least sometimes, to not adding workarounds/hacks in order to keep pain points around and motivate doing it the "right" way)
#aaronpkthat's the same reason I limit hosted Aperture accounts to 7 days of history
#jboveCool. Thanks for the info and pointers to matrix and riot.im. The sheer number of integrations with the all IndieWeb IRC channels is amazing work.
