#ZegnatI just have this weird bias against WordPress code, GWG, but we’ll see if I end up liking the user interface. That is what I am focusing on now :)
#ZegnatNot really. I have started to just use the browser’s build in bookmarking again. I find it fine.
#ZegnatBut it depends a lot on what you use bookmarking for. Are you meant to go back to read it? Is it meant for long term storage to be able to find things again in a year’s time?
#ZegnatI feel like thinking about the final use has helped me figure out how some things should actually work. There is no one-size-fits-all. For public link posts you may want something completely different compared to a personal zettelkasten/archive
#GWGSo, my plan is that bookmarks for private archiving will be in my website separately from public link posts, but one can feed the other
#[jgmac1106]zegnat I think you already tried Kirby and said no thanks, but if you want to ever tried i have licenses I bought and did not use
#[jgmac1106]gwg I still don't see the benefit of simply publishing a bookmark post kind either private or public
#ZegnatI played with Kirby a lot throughout the years, but last I played with it I just couldn’t really wrap my head around their admin panel (or better said, how one would extend it)
#[jgmac1106]is it like a database of all the bookmarks you want to create? ...without getting too DEVY its all YAML...unless you want to redo the design then VUE
#GWG[jgmac1106]: Neither do I. That's why I am creating a bookmark store
#[jgmac1106]I understand the diffference between h-cite and h-entry, I was asking about the problem you are trying to solve and if it isn't already solved enoughish
#[jgmac1106]but a directory of all your bookmarks where you could reuse them in fun ways...maybe on to something
#[jgmac1106]when you are done write a post describing your editing process, two goals same task, plus I can share with students
#[jgmac1106]I want to write a post capturing the split on authorship into two articles, document how knowledge in a network improves, good case study data
#[jgmac1106]easy to triangulate decision points with multiple pieces of evidence

#[jeremycherfas]When I taught writing I used to use an excellent time-lapse video of a man writing a 1000 word essay about writing a 1000 word essay. My post about audio editing would run: listen to the tape; make some notes, listen again, make more notes, cut big chunks, listen again, cut little chunks, listen again, write script, record, cut, mix.

#ZegnatEditing podcast: it is like sharpening a knife, start on the 400 grit and take off material, work down to a 10000 grit where you are merely polishing, do not skip any grits in between
#Zegnatmay have watched a video on knife sharpening last night before going to bed
#[jgmac1106].....just had to teach a bunch of 8 year olds to sharpen knives...it was scarry
#Loqi[Greg McVerry] My pocket knife is my 3-D printer #edtechchat
#[jeremycherfas]That’s a good analogy, Zegnat. Just keep polishing and polishing until there are no lumps or bumps or protruberances.
