This recent article about the auto-update feature that's about to arrive in the next update lays out some of the various use cases and types: https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2020/08/wordpress-auto-updates-what-do-you-have-to-lose/ Perhaps this coming functionality will help lower the admin tax for a variety of users who just want that?
