[Raphael_Luckom] I'd be interested to hear how many of the "massive bill" stories involve VMs vs other things. If you want to run something like Wordpress or another CMS that uses an always-on server, then I don't think AWS makes sense for a personal site--the deal for a server that petermolnar cited seems like a better deal than what aws would give you.
