[Forest_Johnson] The webmentions protocol is in a standards track, but the Big Boys (Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Medium, etc) will never implement it because it's extra work for them that does not give them any benefit, in fact, it could hurt them because it works _against_ their interests to lock users into their platform.
