#[tantek][chrisaldrich] and yet, why is web sign in returning such a horrible error?

#[tantek]Restaurant websites suck, and online ordering intermediaries are spamming the “Menu” links in Google Maps.
#[tantek]What's the indieweb solution to sharing and finding restaurant menus?
#[tantek]Honestly I'm surprised WP com hasn't solved this with a turnkey Restaurant Site theme that doesn't suck
#[tantek]Apparently it's too hard to write, publish, and update a static HTML table with this information
#[Joe_Crawford]I always thought there would be some kind of easy format to share business hours and contact information. Imagine a default, simple text file — akin to robots.txt. Maybe a file called `hours.txt` . But since Yelp and Instagram and Facebook restaurants can’t even keep their domains registered. 😕
#[chrisaldrich]I'm curious if anyone has even seen examples of restaurant sites that "work"?
#[Joe_Crawford]No. But I like the website of _An’s Dry Cleaning_, which sells ice cream and gelato. https://adcgelato.com (I like that “gelato” is in their canonical domain).
#[Joe_Crawford]It’s the perfect amount of stupidly twee.
#[tantek]Maybe that's a good place to start, collecting good examples
#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "IndieWeb way" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "IndieWeb way is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#capjamesg[d]I don't want the pages to be too difficult to navigate / read.
#capjamesg[d]I wonder if there is any page on the wiki devoted to social stream design like this.
#jeremycherfasAt first glance, looks just fine. Is the alternating red/green border thing just a Christmas thing? I don't imagine it has any semantic meaning.
#jeremycherfasWhen I go the the first of those links, though, I'm surprised by how much you quote (all of it, including comments), how unformatted it is, and most of all, that I certainly couldn't find a link to the original. https://jamesg.blog/bookmarks/2021-12-24-129/
