mentioning the subject is better when it's not the most recent thing someone said something about

"pulling in pictures from instagram is a losing battle now tho :("
#
petermolnar
with significant delay and manual labour, it is possible via data export, right?

Yes.
IWSlackGateway, rvalue, [KevinMarks], [jamietanna], [schmarty], [marksuth], [tw2113_Slack_], [pfefferle] and [tantek] joined the channel

[tantek]
interesting point petermolnar. perhaps with a slow enough frequency (monthly? annually?) it becomes a form of slow PESOS
#
sknebel
if you regularly enough use instagram in the browser one could probably also build something that passively grabs from that
#
sknebel
(i.e. does not scrape on a schedule)

#
[tantek]
that's a clever idea sknebel. passive POSSE!
#
[tantek]
er, passive PESOS as it were

"PESOS" sounds like a Russian slang word >_>

Hah, didn't notice which channel this was
[campegg], bterry, btrem, tei_1, joshproehl, [capjamesg], gRegor, geoffo, [aciccarello], PobodysNerfect, t0nic, [benatwork], tei_, bret, [marksuth] and [snarfed] joined the channel; kandr3s left the channel

[snarfed]
lots of prior art on backfilling from exports, https://indieweb.org/export , but not ongoing like this afaik
#
[snarfed]
for a hot minute Bridgy did something loosely related, you could forward Facebook notification emails (for replies etc) and it would scrape and backfeed them. gave up on it quickly because Facebook sending the emails themselves, and/or people receiving them, was unreliable
tei_1 and angelo joined the channel
#
[tantek]
indeed there's perhaps a spectrum between "realtime-ish" PESOS and iterative delta export/backfilling
