jimw besides the technical ways that interconnection can fail, you also have a whole layer of how servers can choose to limit their connections (degeneration, etc)

jimw yes, very much so, but people tend to forget/ignore how tenuous the interconnections via email can be, especially because of the few dominant servers (gmail, yahoo, etc).

sebbu jimw, yeah, my earlier example about misskey is exactly such thing, they limit the connection because it doesn't enfore the nsfw tag

sebbu jimw, and yet, some sites says they don't support yahoo, or gmail, or your email get detected as spam because your mail server/domain doesn't have dnssec/dkim/dmarc/spf / other
