#[tantek]Maybe borderline #indieweb-dev, however the use-case feels worth mentioning here first: I am wondering if "embeds" have other interesting/useful use-cases beyond dropping in an embed like a quote inside an otherwise longer article/note
#[tantek]E.g. Iām wondering if "embedding" someone's reply to one of my notes at the end of the note would be sufficient to show it as a "comment", and if not, what would be missing or what would need changing?
#[tantek]Another "embed" use-case, could I display an embed of someone else's post above my reply to that post, as a "simple"/minimal reply-context?
#[tantek]If either of these two use-cases seem like they have merit to anyone else here, I'll add them to the wiki as brainstorming in the /embed page for how to use and publish embeds
#[tantek](Also interested in #indieweb-meta feedback regarding if this kind of borderline user/implementation topic feels "right" and "welcoming" here in #indieweb or not)

#al3xaurusI think embed not good for text-based browsers like lynx
#[tantek]taking the solution to #indieweb-dev since it involves markup

#blockheadis experiencing confusion about the indieweb. After browsing the site (and not finding the link to the FAQ (I'm sure it's there, I just apparently can't find it)) I have all of my questions distilled down to a single yes/no question which will probably answer or forstall any further questions. Here goes: does Indieweb provide web hosting?
#[Joe_Crawford]"We" don't provide web hosting though there are folks here who do that. We have some guidance on this page - https://indieweb.org/web_hosting and if you have more specific questions maybe the "#indieweb-dev" channel can be helpful.
#[Joe_Crawford]not at all, and as capjamesg said - Welcome!
#[Joe_Crawford]The wiki is a great resource -- also if you find chat hard to use the weekly HWC Zooms are a great spot to dip in and have conversations about all the steps of having a website https://events.indieweb.org/tag/hwc
#capjamesg[d]blockhead No worries at all! The wiki is a wide place, and it is often hard to find exactly what you are looking for as you get started!
#capjamesg[d]All questions about the IndieWeb are welcome here; we can answer directly, or point you to a wiki page / area on the wiki that may answer your question or fuel your curiosity.

#confusedalexHello there, if I try to login into the indieweb webring I get the following error. Any ideas why? invalid_authorization_endpoint The authorization server of the returned profile URL did not match the initial authorization server
#[morganm]I learned of this group a year ago or so, and Ive really enjoyed many aspects of it. I feel a definite kindred spirit feeling about basically not giving up our independence on the web
