[Jo]i like how sometimes trends emerge here, like a while ago lots of people got into 88x31 buttons again because we talked about them on the wiki and now i'm seeing people pick up the concept of lots of /pages. i think its really nice how we inspire each other and brainstorm :^)
Loqi88x31 pixels was a very popular web badge/button image size in the 1990s, especially among freewheeling and independent sites created on services like GeoCities, and there are IndieWeb 88x31 badges you may use https://indieweb.org/88x31
Lars-ChristianGood evening! Mentioned the reading history page on my website when it went live a while back. Said I'd share the write-up when I had finished it. I finally did.
[Trevor_Morris]Nice. I started tracking the books I read with my son last year. I looked around at good external places, with the idea of syncing them in, but they severally lacked APIs. So I gave up and just add them "manually" now (well, with the ISBN number and some basic lookup to grab basic data) – https://www.trovster.com/books is mainly kids books, though!
Lars-ChristianAnd big fan of tracking what you read with your son! I only started tracking books we're reading together more recently as we embarked on the Narnia Chronicles.
Lars-ChristianHave you written about how you put that together? My next project is replacing Strava with something displaying my exercise data on my own website.
Lars-ChristianSince I've stopped syncing to Strava, I've reverted to tracking my workouts in a spreadsheet. Only log type, time, distance and HR avg and max, and comments on each activity.
Lars-ChristianThe fit files all live somewhere, I guess. But I just don't keep track of all the details. Made a little app to automate extracting the data from healthkit to my spreadsheet.
[Trevor_Morris]Ah! I need a way to get my data out of health - I’m manually entering them at the moment, using the Fitness app. I’ve started looking at a shortcut to sync to my api but I’ve not finished it. You made an iOS app to access the data?
Lars-ChristianYeah just a super simple app to export the activity data. If you're just looking for overall health data, you can probably get using Shortcut. (But for some ridiculous reason they don't support data per activity through Shortcut)
Lars-ChristianThat wasn't very clear... If you want general activity data (steps, calories, minutes, etc) you can get it through Shortcut. If you want data tied to a specific activity (workout) there's no way to do that with Shortcut
[Trevor_Morris]Ah, OK. Well, my workouts go to Strava, so it’s the general data I need. I got so far, but it was a pain to build up. I need a better way to test. The mirroring might help me. It’s on my list.
