[KevinMarks]1By turning on 'force alt text' on bsky and mastodon, I have been learning to write alt text even for visual jokes where you don't naively describe the visual image but just the bits that make the joke work, and pace it like a spoken joke
[aciccarello]I think that's the biggest mind shift when writing alt text. When I first started, I only looked at the content, but the context and vibe are almost more important.
[aciccarello]Also why attaching alt text to an image database and using that everywhere isn't the best. One use of an image could be communicating something very different than another.
