Hey I would love any feedback on this draft post I put up, I want to refine it, this is just a start.
#
[tantek]
great! will take a look in a bit
#
[morganm]
its very initial, but if the technique resonates I want to make it curated and a good resource

This is a great start [morganm], good screenshots and convincing initial "this is what I was able to do" personal testimony before going into the "how to" details.

[morganm]: Morgan, I noticed you've got a header that says "What are HAR files?" but prior to that point there's been no mention of HAR files. I'd recommend leading into it with a sentence like "It's possible to attempt to export some images in bulk by saving a HAR file" (this is a flipped version of the sentence you have underneath the header) or "This technique uses the browsers DevTools network tab functionality to export bulk

very nice article write up on HAR files I have no clue about them but this would definitly have come in handy prior to deleting my instagram account this is something I always found cumbersome but is there an actual way to export your whole "story" portion of instagram and maybe port it somewhere else with HAR files such as federated services like pixelfed or your own homepage?

@thegoldenbagle it's nice to read that someone actually has similar thoughts to your own :D now I feel like a freak especially with that productivity vs creativity post

@morganm feedback to your draft: with step 2/3.. you may just wanna include a screenshot of chrome dev tools network page for novice users so they know what you're talking about and or the infamous red arrows. / highlight that in a screenshot to point them to the correct tab

@morganm I always found these tutorials for backing up only to be relevant for the instagram feed and not other parts of the app. For a whole bunch of users this included me for a while the story part of instagram became more relevant then other parts of the app.

failxontour: Thank you @failxontour! There's nothing wrong with productivity but especially nowadays with all this gig economy stuff that everyone's being told to monetize their hobbies and I don't think that's usually a good idea.

I have been trying to send a "p-in-reply-to" reply from my static site using webmention.app CLI but webmention.io receives it as a "link" `"activity":{"type":"link"},"target":"https://<link>"}`

When i test the page with indiewebify.me it detects "In Reply To" but when webmention.io receives it says the activity type is "link". Is this a webmention.app problem? I am using the auto generated atom feed from zola static site generator.

does anyone here have a dedicated "Publications" page on their site where they list / cite the books, papers, or other more "formal" things they have published (gotten published) beyond say, blog posts on their own site etc. ?
#
[tantek]
as an example, TimBL has one here (not on his personal site) : https://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee/Publications.html
#
[tantek]
I checked Jeremy Keith's site expecting he might have one but he doesn't, he lists his books as part of his "Projects" in a sidebar
#
[tantek]
(he's published a number of books so it seemed reasonable he'd have one)

maybe I'll start a small one myself to have a real world indieweb example just so I can create the page 🙂

what are publications
#
Loqi
Publications is a page on a personal website that lists official or more formal publications (than say blog posts), like books, videos, academic papers, typically published by a publishing organization https://indieweb.org/publications
