jbcrncarrvo[d] I have code on https://git.jbc.lol/jbcrn/KcIA but it's still in it's early stages soo yeah, but take note that it requires you to add a custom "website" property on the realm (I recommend making a dedicated realm either)
capjamesgjbcrn[d] Can you continue these discussions in #indieweb-dev? This is the channel for talking about the indieweb more broadly / principles / publishing on your website, etc. whereas #indieweb-dev is specifically for discussions related to code.
[tantek]Silo skepticism is rational for sure, and certainly backed by the preponderance of evidence. I find the notable exceptions interesting though who have maintained relative independence for say 10y+. E.g. Smugmug (Flickr owner).
[tantek]From first glance I’m cautiously optimistic about Viewbug. I’m particularly curious about the possibility of using them for incremental income from photos. Feels like an indieweb-friendly business model
[jeremycherfas]I’m with you on incremental income possibilities, but having let Flickr slide in the IG fun, I want to be sure that I am using my own site effectively first, with a subset to Viewbug if I decide to go that route. I have this on my mind for Sunday in Berlin.
[Al_Abut]Oh no way, viewbug’s about page says they’re from San Diego. Anybody have any personal connections? Would love to get them involved in the Dec get-together.
[Al_Abut]Oh this is cool, the second you sign up, they spiced up the usual boring confirmation page with a helpful ebook on how to get your photos into various photo contests, not just theirs. I’m liking their vibe.
