[tantek] The other variant of this I've seen is where someone sees something missing or unmentioned (that they personally like or care about) in a public social media post and interprets that as if the original poster hates or doesn't care about that something. E.g. public post: "I like chocolate ice cream". Reply; "why do you hate vanilla?"
