opus-tangoA lot of indieweb sites link to each other, like in the early days of the web, so you can often go down an infinite rabbit hole of interesting sites by just following the links

[Murray]Hey @spamt0n 👋 In the broadest sense, IndieWeb is just about having a small slice of the web that you control. There's no restrictions or requirements on what that looks like 🙂
[Murray]In terms of good resources, the best is probably the Wiki (sounds like you may have found it). You can query the Wiki here via Loqi, a useful bot, by asking "what is" questions e.g.
Loqi🌱 Get started on the indieweb by connecting with the IndieWeb community, getting a personal domain, a place for your content, and setting up your home page and other IndieWeb essentials https://indieweb.org/Getting_started
[Murray]^ which is a good place to start, and links out to other relevant pages/sites etc. Hope it helps, but if you have any other questions then that's what this chat is for
[Jo]spamt0n i think its also important that, beyond having a personal site, there is nothing you absolutely have to have to be part of the indieweb idea. there's a lot of technical stuff that people sometimes feel like they gotta have to belong, like using microformats, setting up webmentions or POSSE or micropub. But those are absolutely not things you need to have to belong. they're just cool stuff that makes the personal web more enjoyable for some
[Jo]people, that doesn't mean everyone needs to have that or want that to be part of the indieweb! so don't feel overwhelmed or like you have to do a bunch of stuff. like people said, if you have a website, you already belong :)
[morgan]I just wanted to add that Ive been messing around my personal site for quite a few years before becoming active sometimes here, and Ive personally opted not to implement webmentions yet exactly / not perfect in my syndication regime habits, but basically I have come to appreciate this community as like a skills guild. Ive learned skills about computing and owning more of your own stuff basically
[tantek]Yes that's a separate page! Was wondering about folks that just an inspiring quote or two right on their home page like in a sidebar or footer (or even header!)
