[Al_Abut][capjamesg] good catch. I might revisit some old tech movies in honor of Social Reckoning. Not sure I can stomach Social Network again though, so open to suggestions…?
[Al_Abut]Pirates of Silicon Valley is a bit of a classic but also campy. Same with the one about BlackBerry, neither are on the same level as Aaron Sorkin
[social]Same. I really like Blue a lot, but it is gutting and I need to be in a good headspace and to have 2 or 3 days to have that destroyed after. White bothered me on first watch and didn’t make it through it, but on a second watch years later it just was meh. I have DVD and BluRay Criterion Collection of the trilogy.
[social]I did a slow watch of Red a year ago (watched it over a week) and I was amazed how little dialog it had in the first part of the film. It also made me miss living in Europe.
[social]The ads for Reckoning have me not all that interested in sitting and watching poor decision that are impacting us condensed into 90 minutes or so.
[social]It has the feeling of when I’ve been the 3rd person in dental emergency surgery for friends for root canals. (When done on weekends in a closed office and it is the doctor and patient and laws here say there must be a third person)
[tantek]In contrast [social], most of the trailer for The Social Network (before it gets into corp drama) made for a good intro clip before many IndieWebCamps
[Al_Abut]I realize I’ve been sort of putting off going with that trilogy because it felt like too much homework and you may have just cut that Gordian knot
[Al_Abut]I don’t think anyone listening to this chat should feel a need to watch the social reckoning. We probably all know way too much, just like doctors watching the insider or journalist watching Spotlight.
[social]The connection of the Three Colors Trilogy is an essence of being French and French social culture. They are mostly stand alone non-interconnected films other than cameos of main characters in the background as the tether.
[Al_Abut]I'm only joking about volunteering you as tribute, I can also blog it out myself since I’m overdue for recapping this year’s movie events as a post and setting up the next event. I just didn’t want to steal your thunder if you’re down to write a bit about it (that’s all that’s really needed to “host”)
