Is there a way to get bridgy to publish a post that is a re-post of a non-twitter page to twitter?
#
dkm
i.e. I have posted a re-post of an article with a comment as a note, I want to publish that note to twitter, not as a re-tweet, just as a tweet with a link to my note

but bridgy refuses because it couldn't find a tweet to re-tweet, I assume because the post contains a u-repost-of link to the post I am reposting

hi dkm! sorry, no, that's not supported well right now

before we added those checks, we had lots of cases of people trying to actually @-reply or retweet, but got the in-reply-to or repost-of wrong, and bridgy tweeted plain text like that, which *wasn't* what they wanted

ok, thanks snarfed!

second question, is there a strategy to debug original-post-detection?
#
snarfed
dkm: hmm interesting q. you're using u-syndication links in your original posts? ie your silo posts don't have direct links to them?
#
snarfed
if you're technical, your bridgy user page has links to raw logs of your last poll, web site crawl, last synd link found, etc. try reading them

snarfed: yes. I'll take a look at the logs to see if I can deduce what is going on. thanks!
