petermolnar although if I create a phar which accepts stdin and outputs html using parsedown-extra, that's cross language as well

voxpelli as Markdown is fairly standard I find that as long as the libraries are fairly compliant it's "cross-language" enough

voxpelli better to catch/avoid any exotic uses in ones Markdown than to be tied to a specific implementation of it :)
