you do get arbitrary profile image sizes from bridgy, which can be oddly humanising
#
[KevinMarks]
not being squished in small boxes

@Cambridgeport90
↩️ @pancakeuprising That looks pretty awesome. I was unable to comment via IndieAuth, though.

"oddly humanising" going on my tombstone
#
[KevinMarks]
The raw html out of granary is fun like that, it rebalances twitter as profile pics with small amounts of text
#
[snarfed]
hah yes. not meant for human consumption

Didn't really plan for last minute flight changes with this new feature
#

New flight worked! We'll see if my old flight got deleted and cleaned up properly

https://aaronparecki.com/2019/09/18/21/coffee Notice the location this was posted from!
#
Loqi
[Aaron Parecki] I do appreciate that the Qantas in-flight video points out that "your flight has great coffee too"
#
GWG
aaronpk: How do you do that again?
#
aaronpk
My website has a list of my flights, so when my micropub endpoint goes to look up my location to add to the post, it also checks if there are any active flights
#
GWG
So, I need flights first.
#
GWG
I'll get there
#
aaronpk
I was able to post the new flight from my phone using quill tho!
#
aaronpk
It was only a little awkward on mobile
#
GWG
I used itinerary from Quill to post my first itinerary post, but haven't gone farther
#
GWG
Wonder how I'd store flights differently. But for now...

I made a special database table to index the flight posts so that it's easier to query
#

it's how i have my fitbit/lastfm data structured. give dedicated tables instead of WordPress custom post types

↩️ I've heard that before. When I started my blog it made little sense to have a comment section, because there would be little to no comments. I've been thinking about a webmention integration, but it'll take some time.

[KevinMarks] I warned that this layout is ugly 🙂 I am before making it humanitary for eyes but is on my queue …

↩️ Have you heard of http://webmentions.io? I think @freekmurze is using this to have comments on his blog via Twitter...

vika_nezrimaya: have you been receiving my webmentions? I've been replying to stuff but I don't see my comments displayed so I'm not sure it's actually working!

↩️ Oh I see. To reply to posts your existing micropub website must support sending webmentions, and you simply need to make a reply post where the URL is set to this post's address. In theory, that should work

I am stuck in deciding if I should use Kirby or just keep hand rolling pages and features...webmentions won't work for me in Kirby....that is one minus...so much of the automation done is plus...community support is a plus....
#
[jgmac1106]
instead of deciding will use HWC time to work on IWC NYC
#
jacky
[jgmac1106]: what are you using to send / receive webmentions?
#
[jgmac1106]
I am not....I use Known for my social stuff...I have endpoints and recieve with webmention.io and manually send with telegraph when needed
#
[jgmac1106]
the Kirby plugin doesn't work for me but I think that is a shared hosting issue as noone else runs into same problem

Probably not going to work with other people's sites too because of cors

You can try a cors proxy service though
