[jgmac1106]swentel, don't know if this is better for the Known channel or here, but having trouble logging into indigenous, I deleted all my tokens but when I log in it opens Known in the browser
[jgmac1106]It is a Known issue: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden\r\nServer: nginx/1.14.0\r\nContent-Type: application/json\r\nTransfer-Encoding: chunked\r\nConnection: keep-alive\r\nX-Powered-By: PHP/7.2.7-1+ubuntu16.04.1+deb.sury.org+1\r\nCache-Control: no-cache, private\r\nDate: Mon, 06 Jan 2020 14:59:24 GMT", what I get in Monocle
[jgmac1106]I deleted all my tokens, uninstalled and then reinstalled the program, has to be a Known issue, will check to see if any other people are having it
Loqiprivate posts refer to posts or portions of posts which are private to either the author or to a limited audience chosen or previously approved by the author https://indieweb.org/friends_only
aaronpkspeaking of private posts... we seem to continue to struggle with it because authentication is hard. i wonder if there's a way to avoid the problem, by using WebSub and a push model instead of trying to get authenticated feed fetching working.
[tantek]that's similar to the ActivityPub "inbox" model for delivery, except maybe by limiting it to only private posts we won't have their scaling problems
aaronpkyeah that's what made me think of it. because in the activitypub model, there is nothing special about private post delivery compared to public posts, so they get it almost just built in.
[tantek]I do think we need better terms / differentiation of terms there. Private should literally mean private to *you* (and anyone you might want acting as you, per delegated access etc).
aaronpkwe haven't even been able to get a functional poll-style version of protected/friends-only posts so we don't know what problems it might even have once it's running
Loqipolling is also known as periodically fetching, and part of the problem with the “just use RSS!” attitude by some old-school bloggers who are ignoring about 15 years of social media UX and protocols work, specifically the “thundering herd” problem as well as the overpolling problem of popular sites; use WebSub instead per https://tantek.com/2018/024/t4/websub-recommendationhttps://indieweb.org/polling
jamietanna[m]Has anyone got an example of what a quote tweet looks like with bridgy? I've looked at https://brid.gy/about#quote-tweet but can't 100% get what the markup should look like from the excerpt
LoqiA quotation is a type of response post that is primarily a subset of the contents of another post, and often has a citation of that other post https://indieweb.org/quote
[tantek]since clear the page is still "in development" as you observed from what it "could use", it's better to treat it that way and help refine it through practical work rather than not
Loqi[gRegor Morrill] I joined the ACLU today and encourage you to donate. Send @sacca your receipt; he is matching up to $75K.

@bradenslenI have a theory that #indieweb #webmentions like we see on Wordpress, help excite Googlebot. Webmentions, between blogs encourage longer, more frequesnt replies/comments to a post. Googlebot responds to that added activity and text. Sample is limited tho. (twitter.com/_/status/1214303163089641473)
