sebbu
it didn't valide my login via gpg key
#
sebbu
but via github it worked
#
sebbu
(maybe it doesn't support ed25519 yet ?)

[eddie] look for log files; if you've had an error condition for a while they may have mounted up

Nothing more meta than the 1st comment to @chriscoyier’s WordPress Comments Wishlist https://css-tricks.com/my-wordpress-comments-wishlist/ In all seriousness anytime someone mentions WordPress and Webmentions I get excited. Broader adoption is what’s needed, tools exist.

↩️ Same. This is WHY I want it simple, so just my question : If my indiereader visits your website how is she informed about my ActivityPub Actor Profile? Wouldn't it be the best if we just do it like https://www.w3.org/TR/micropub/#endpoint-discovery what would I need to send to https://www.iana.org/assignments/link-relations/link-relations.xhtml ?

There was an error verifying the signature. Please try again.
#
sebbu
is the GPG verification broken, or does it not support ed25519 ?
#

Do any of you have a suggestion to have a relevant feed out of twitter?
#
nolith
I tested reading it via microsub using granary to convert it but the timeline makes no sense. Maybe I should create users list and follow them instead of the general feed...
#
nolith
My goal will be to have it in AllTogheter so that I can like, reply and so on with micropub trough my site
#
sebbu
(i added several dozen endpoint, but only github works, prob email too, other aren't recognized)
#
sebbu
it works on indielogin.com but not on indieauth.com
#
sebbu
(the gpg auth)

nolith: I use lists and subscribe to them with twitter-atom (but in mf2 html mode)
#
[grantcodes]
Kinda complicated but works well
#
nolith
[grantcodes]: so using lists you can fine-tune content source without getting what _the algorithm_ decide you should see? Thanks, I'll try
#
[grantcodes]
Yep exactly.
#
sebbu
what's the recommended way to show email on your website (relmeauth) but hide them when it's not from indieauth/indielogin/other ?

How long should a `dd` copy of an 8GB micro=-card to SSD take? Is a ballpark figure possible?
#
petermolnar
depends on the card; old cards can take surprisingly long, new ones are rather fast
#
petermolnar
just make sure you run "sync" after the dd is done

#
jeremycherfas
This is newish, I guess.
#
jeremycherfas
28 minutes! I didn't in fact do sync; what is the benefit?
#
jeremycherfas
I mean, I've done it now, because you said so, but what is the benefit?
#
nolith
sync returns after all the beffered operation are flushed on disk
#
nolith
that means that data will really be on the disk only after sync return, before it could still be in buffers.
#
nolith
and if you remove the drive, or you have a powerless, it will be lost

So, add `&& sync` after the `dd` command?
#
petermolnar
or ; sync
#
petermolnar
&& means sync will only run if dd succeeded
#
petermolnar
though if dd dies, there isn't much point to sync
#
jeremycherfas
Thanks for the explanation.
#
nolith
`&& sync` is ok
#
nolith
After my first attemp to syndicate to micro.blog with RSS I removed it and now I'm thinking about doing it using micropub instead.
#
nolith
Is there a way to get a permanent bearer token for micro.blog that I could use on my publishing CI pipeline?
#
petermolnar
jeremycherfas: sync is needed to the computer on the sd card (yes, you're reading it right) actually writes the data; otherwise it's like a 202 Accepted. ( Related: https://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=3554 )
#
nolith
seems I can get it from the app, as explained here: https://help.micro.blog/2017/api-posting/
#
jeremycherfas
That's pretty remarkable to someone who doesn't really understand these things in any depth. Thanks petermolnar It reminds me a bit of the early days of digitization (and probably still some AmazonTurk style transcription services) that is was cheaper to get three people to type everything and compare two of them bit by bit, turning to the third when there was a disagreement.

And obviously I cannot send webmentions to micro.blog posts because as it cannot fetch my RSS feed, it also fails to fetch my reply. (Just assuming as I have no way to see logs on GitLab pages)

#

it works on one but not the other

that's why i suspect it's related to ed25519

(or is it cv25519)
