[Murray] right!

Ah that's a shame, so I can't really "replace" BlueSky with it 😄 well, back to the drawing board

[Murray], search for me on some instances, like xoxo.zone, has always returned a 403. indieweb.social usually works for search for me, but I've also noticed the 500s in the last week or so. Hopefully a temporary bug. In both cases I'm searching as the public, not signed in.
#
gRegor
Oops, mis-remembered. It's not search, it's trying to browse tags. And apparently that's 422 now, requires authenticated user.
#

search worked for me just now on indieweb.social

[Gregor] thanks, I reached out to Tim and there was some issue which is now resolved. Seems to be working fine for me today 🙂

[Murray]
(dammit Slack! Well, sorry for the incorrect ping; I did everything to _not have that autocomplete incorrectly_ that I could think of...)

[Murray]
[snarfed] follow-up question: is there a way to follow the Bridgy Fed bot (on Masto, in this case, but either way is fine) so that I can follow other bridged accounts, but _without_ it sharing my _posts_ to the other network? Happy for it to share likes, comments, etc. to other bridged accounts, but I'd rather not duplicate my own posts

what is gimme a token?
#
Loqi
gimme a token is a helper to obtain an access token from your IndieAuth endpoint: https://gimme-a-token.5eb.nl/ https://indieweb.org/gimme_a_token

I am trying to wrap my head around Indieweb, webmentions and bridgy. I have a site at https://www.larsolesen.dk/ where I setup Indieweb h-card with rel="me". Do I need to do more with that site to be the base indieweb-profile? However, most of my blogging happen on another site, https://www.motionsplan.dk/ - for instance https://www.motionsplan.dk/rm-beregner/. Here I have setup an author profile, but as far as I can tell, maybe

Dev behind my IWC demo: you can use CSS queries @media (max-aspect-ratio: 1/1) and @media (min-aspect-ratio: 1/1) to detect portrait and landscape sized viewports respectively. This is different from device orientation, as that would not change on resize.
#
Zegnat
The problem though, as shown in the demo, is that both those selectors are going to fight over the square case. So you need to define that one separately.
#
Zegnat
doesnm: microformats are part of your HTML. So any site where you control the HTML can be given microformats :) No matter the system you use. If your website is literally only text files, that is going to be hard
#
[snarfed]
[Murray] if you post unlisted/quiet public instead of public, Bridgy Fed won't bridge those posts, https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/posting/#unlisted
#
[snarfed]
otherwise no, sorry, there isn't currently a way to bridge follows, likes, etc but not posts
#
[snarfed]
Isolesen that should all be ok, Bridgy shouldn't worry too much about your h-card, rel-me, separate sites, etc. just connect it to the social network you want to use it with, it should hopefully just work

I am so happy about `image-rendering: pixelated` and have no idea how I missed it. For old screenshots that are small in size it's great!
#
[snarfed]
[Joe_Crawford] got an example?
#
[Joe_Crawford]
first post I've added it to was this one: https://artlung.com/blog/2024/10/08/raw-text-to-speech/ the old audioblogger screenshot is designed to grow to size. the pixelated version is just a bit "truer" I think
#
[snarfed]
oh so it disables smoothing?
#
[Joe_Crawford]
This is an old post describing the problem. https://smorgasborg.artlung.com/image-upsizing-with-svg/
#
[Joe_Crawford]
the solution then was to convert the gif to an svg pixel by pixel
#
[Joe_Crawford]
Here's a side by side: https://codepen.io/artlung/pen/OJKrNrV
#
[Joe_Crawford]
This actually has me thinking I might use some pixel fonts again.
#
[Joe_Crawford]
In images, I mean
#

[Joe_Crawford]: what I think is unanswered how to do it for video. that might need WebGL (but I've not experimented, maybe there is a trick)
