I'm trying to register my domain at webmention.io. After my indielogin auth success page, I am redirected to an "Internal Server Error" error page. Where and how should I report the issue ?
#
[Murray]
@paradigmatic: I'm getting the same error. I'm also seeing an expired SSL cert on redirect, which may be relevant. I know a few people were mentioning on social sites a few days ago that the service was having some issues, so it might just be a continuation of that.
#
[Murray]
in terms of where to report the issue, GitHub is a good option, though aaronpk will likely check these channels at some point in the next day or so πŸ™‚
#
paradigmatic
thanks !

aaronpk It looks like https://indieauth.net/ has an expired cert too.
#

Sorry to add to the list of things but I'm trying to authenticate to webmention.io via my IndieAuth endpoint. IndieLogin is returning " "<!doctype_html>\n<html_lang": "en>\n<title>400 Bad Request</title>\n<h1>Bad Request</h1>\n<p>The CSRF token is missing.</p>\n""
#
capjamesg
I know the spec says there is an `iss` param. I don't have that, but I couldn't discover one.

Wait the CSRF thing is on my end. My bad.
#
capjamesg
aaronpk webmention.io is returning a 500 error on https://webmention.io/auth/callback when I try to authenticate.

#
aaronpk
Probably all related to the expired carts
#
aaronpk
I'm guessing this is the same problem that the certs did auto renew but the web server didn't reload properly
#
aaronpk
oh shoot, looks like i got part way through a migration in june 😬
#
aaronpk
well i guess people do actually use these sites because i've gotten several emails and github issues about this πŸ˜‚

This is my first time going through an old codebase (~3y old) and bringing it back. There was a lot to fix and improve. These are several accessibility changes I need to make and bugs to fix, but the core authentication process works as expected.

capjamesg: can rel=me be a link?
#
doesnm
seems i can't login via alto
#
doesnm
or i don't understand this flow
#
capjamesg
doesnm Can you add https:// to the start of your domain name in that field?
#
capjamesg
I don't think the autocomplete is working yet.
#
capjamesg
There are a few bugs to iron out πŸ™ƒ
#
doesnm
oh, it uses github same as indielogin
#
capjamesg
The email method is in progress. Maybe will launch tomorrow!
#
capjamesg
If there is another auth method you would like to see, let me know.
#
doesnm
can alto grab domain from referer or smth?
#
capjamesg
What would be the use case?
#
doesnm
how indielogin do this
#
doesnm
<capjamesg> What would be the use case? <- not needing to entering domain twise
#
doesnm
first on rp page, second on alto
#
capjamesg
Ah, I need to look at how to make that work.
#
capjamesg
That would be ideal!

I use that bit of JS everywhere users type in a web site or URL
#
aaronpk
how do we petition for that to be built into the browser πŸ˜…
#
capjamesg
Yes! I'd love that.
#
capjamesg
I have used it across several websites now.

html is on github?
#
[tantek]
The HTML standard is maintained and published by WHATWG which yes uses GitHub
#
[tantek]
aaronpk, this issue re enhancing input type=email to support more use-cases / i18n may have some arguments you can re-use: https://github.com/whatwg/html/issues/4562

doesnm, there used to be a way to join one IRC server, and then somehow jump from that server into other servers it knew about (but might be "blocked" by your local network or client)
#
doesnm
sounds useless
#
[tantek]
maybe tunneling was what it was doing, but you were still "on" both servers
#
[tantek]
it was quite useful for accessing IRC from kiosks that were semi-locked down
#
[tantek]
pretty sure back in the day I was able to do this from DNA Lounge which let you join maybe effnet or another IRC server but not freenode, then joined freenode and chatted on the #microformats channel
