When I try to parse that RSS feed, I get the error "offset must be a timedelta strictly between -timedelta(hours=24) and timedelta(hours=24)."
#
[KevinMarks]
That feed has some seriously broken timezone offsets eg <pubDate>Fri, 30 May 2025 23:05:27 -3000</pubDate>
#
[KevinMarks]
There aren't real timezones bigger than ± 14 hours, so something went wrong with making the obsolete date format RSS2 demands

i've just 'vibe coded' some css for the first time – and even if the outputs were quality (in fact it's almost more work), the whole fun is gone.

fun to get code merged, even silly code. https://github.com/hfg-gmuend/openmoji/pull/562
#
[snarfed]
capjamesg fixed! thanks for the nudge. [KevinMarks] is right that those dates in the underlying feed are broken, but granary now handles them gracefully
#
[snarfed]
btw how's the load from granary on your server now?
#
capjamesg
[snarfed]++ Thank you!

#

Is this live in the Python package?
#
capjamesg
I caught the error because my web reader failed badly and accidentally parsed the feed as a string instead of raising the error 😭
#
capjamesg
I'll check the load now.
#
capjamesg
Looks like a 10x reduction in Granary requests IIRC!
#
capjamesg
[snarfed]++ thank you!

GuestZero that "fun is gone" is the loss of fun due to learning how to do it yourself
#
[tantek]
Not blaming you, only pointing out that's what vibe coding does for "new" (to you) things. It robs you of the opportunity and joy of learning
#
[tantek]
Timezone -3000 lol talk about living in the past (yesterday CST to be precise 😂 )
#
capjamesg
[tantek] Yes haha re: the timezone issue.
#
[Al_Abut]
Thanks for the invite, [capjamesg] !

tantek yup. i get these procedures may be more tiresome, repetitive, if you're coding for a living (which i don't), but even then you're probably debugging all the time.
#
[tantek]
And you get VERY good by some amount of repetition (AKA practice). You get faster. You become more accurate "on the first try". You learn to write better code with fewer bugs up front rather than spending more time debugging later
#
[tantek]
Vibe coding robs you of all that skill development

Hi, I have a Ghost.io website and wanted to auto post it to my bsky using brid.gy.

I'm not able to publish these posts, and it's looking like I need to change the post HTML? I'm not sure. Is anyone able to help me set this up or at least explain further? It would be appreciated.

It looks like your post is missing h-entry markup.

[edit] See https://brid.gy/about#microformats for more guidance.
#

You will need to change the post HTML.
#

I'm just unclear on what to do, and due to how posts are made on Ghost I'm not sure if I'd have to have every post to include this tag.
#
a2adam
Ghost has an option to insert html code into the text post itself, but what specifically is the correct microformat most people use for blogs?

It may be best to update your Ghost template to include microformats.
#
capjamesg
This will allow you to add formats to the title, date ,etc.

You can then add microformats to the theme and re-upload it.
