This Octothorpe thing is so awesome, thanks for introducing me to it. I'll definitely try it out when i get a new website up

I just tried a custom harmonizer but it doesn't seem http://octothorp.es picked up my page

interesting, there are actually going to have to be two entry points to bluesky login for indielogin.com
#
aaronpk
it should work if you enter a URL that is itself a bluesky handle
#
aaronpk
but also if you link to a bluesky profile from a web page
#
aaronpk
and in that case, i can't just go pinging every rel=me to find out if it's a bluesky handle so i think i need a new rel value for that
#
[tantek]
Isn't there only one domain right now for BlueSky handles? That's not worth a standard. Not even 2-3 domains. Hard code those into a table.
#
aaronpk
no, my bluesky handle is "aaronpk.com"
#
[tantek]
Bluesky *profiles* that is
#
aaronpk
so if i enter "aaronpk.com" into indielogin.com bluesky should show up as an option to log in
#
[tantek]
And there's no need to use bsky to sign in with aaronpk. That's the point
#
[tantek]
That domain already supports IndieAuth and RelMeAuth
#
aaronpk
this is obviously not for the case where there is an indieauth server, it's for people who only have a bluesky handle
#
[tantek]
Make them rel=me to their actual bsky domain profile they had to setup to make their domain handle
#
[tantek]
Since bsky requires creating an account to setup bsky domain handles
#
[tantek]
Then you detect the bsky domain on that
#
[tantek]
And the bsky folks complain then tell them bsky should add support for being an IndieAuth IdP
#
aaronpk
the only bluesky account i have is aaronpk.com, there is nothing on my bluesky account on bsky.social
#
aaronpk
i'm not actually adding bluesky support, i'm adding atproto oauth support
#
aaronpk
which means theoretically if there was another PDS, it should work just as well with this

Im writing a blog post for my website about accessibility browser extensions/bookmarklets/web apps. Id love it if anyone had any anecdotes of using them and particularly if they showed the results to other people at an org or team
#
[snarfed]
also generally each bluesky PDS gives its users subdomains on its own domain as their handles, not on bsky.social
#
[tantek]
Adding atproto OAuth support to IndieLogin?
#
aaronpk
[snarfed]: do you know how many of them have implemented oauth?
#
[snarfed]
almost all of them are on the reference PDS
#
[snarfed]
we can probably count on one hand the ones on other implementations 😢
#
aaronpk
oh gotcha
#
[snarfed]
relatively early days still 🤷
#
aaronpk
gotta start somewhere

i'm just happy to have an actual live service use client IDs as URLs. I don't have to go register API keys for indielogin.com for this!

Nice work. A lot of this work and concepts are not in my usual domain, but I am impressed from afar and recognize the work that goes into this stuff
