[artlung] Scalable (resize your browser) spinning odometer CSS was really really satisfying to create. `calc()` and the `vw` unit are magic https://artlung.com/wwo/25/

failxontour hm [Murray] I been dabbling with your input just now kinda feel guilty for not doing something on the website for so long and even thought I learnt this stuff I have to admit i never heard of a modal, nonmodal approach before and I think your approach as you mentioned just giving out a clear indicator might be the right way arround. Otherwise the usability of the site will probably just take a hit for the worse for a simple link aggregator se
#
failxontour I basically always tried the nonmodal approach first with the commandfor element well expecting different results I am a simple person I like simple solutions this ain't it. So back to the drawing board the modal approach could be the one I am looking for so far in my testing where you can implement both of the goodies. But that would mess up the experience onsite. Espeically if you'd be like me and don't like to use JavaScript
#
failxontour That being said. I think the modal approach is great for these dialog options but would like to enhance some details to it if you use it say for my case what I found out on selfwiki.de is that they state you should wrap them inside a <form> element with the method="dialog" that way you can keep closedby="any" approach present
#
failxontour or at least that's to my understanding what I understood correctly
#
failxontour so for my case I will probably have to and will for my own saneness stick to the preventive use of <a> element for now while I don't like rewriting and repeating myself often again. I kind brought this up to myself. As with button you neither have the preview text options from the browser itself.
#
failxontour And I think the original creator of littlelink probably thought about this stuff too or atleast I hope he did
#
failxontour I also can finally add some things I did not previously refer to by adding appropiate rel="*" to properly within javascript 🥁 so I can do what I should have done in the first place. Protect peoples privacy
#
failxontour Adding a title="" could also avoid some of my issues mentioned and be the easiest goto that's fully supported rn

failxontour The more I discovered about JS the more it just feels like a weird poison potion to me that I do not wanna touch for crying out loud
#
failxontour ECMAscript, JSX as framework, code safety, validation issues, regex issues, let's not talk abou js math json.... as binding way for headless data operation. Go away, jQuery being the fix for a huge portion of webdevs for a long time.... just no... I refuse to learn JS til today even though Im missing out.
#
[morganm] I think a lot of people feel the same way but it is a big part of the web still
#
[morganm] "use strict" if you got a use it
#
[morganm] Gotta*
#
failxontour will try to remember that ty morgan ;rant over.
