[snarfed] apart from caching and updates/delete, the biggest challenge with GET-based webmentions will probably be adoption. you can't do it yourself, you need to get *other people* who send webmentions to switch to GETs, or send them in addition to POSTs, and since it's non-standard, that will be an uphill battle
