How do y'all mark up digital gardens? Do you do a feed of edits? Do you put the pages in a feed despite not being chronological?

Closest analogy is probably the RecentChanges pages on wikis

What is RecentChanges
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "RecentChanges" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "RecentChanges is ____", a sentence describing the term)

What is recentchanges
#
Loqi
recent changes is a stream of updated posts or pages from a site, ordered by most recently updated first, commonly known from wikis like the IndieWeb https://indieweb.org/Special:RecentChanges page https://indieweb.org/recentchanges

I don't really subscribe to the terminology of digital garden, but I do keep a changelog, and I sometimes put updates there when I'm adding new stuff to my pages.
#
osteophage
Looks like searching changelog on the wiki redirects to release notes.

Anyway if we're talking about the term "open social" I also have thoughts on that, but that might have to be a blogpost for another day.
#
thepaperpilot
I think the term applies to my site. Its a topological map of pages that get significantly updated
#
thepaperpilot
rather than a timeline of new posts
#
thepaperpilot
the ?orderBy=modified and associated feed should work

What is a digital garden?
#
Loqi
🌿🪴 A digital garden is a particular practice of creating & growing an online and public IndieWeb presence that focuses more on topics & relationships than a timeline like blogs, has content of different levels of development, is imperfect and often a playground for experimentation, learning, revising, iteration, and growth for diverse content, perhaps interlinked with other digital gardens https://indieweb.org/digital_garden
#
[tantek]
I think that's fine and more accessible to more people than say "personal wiki"
#
[tantek]
Gardening is a good positive metaphor

aaronpk, how do you match your posts with the micropub client used to post it?
#
aaronpk
my indieauth server issues the token to the client, so it keeps track of the client ID when the client requested the token
#
[aciccarello]
That makes sense. I think my JWTs should probably store more in the payload.
#
[aciccarello]
I just have `me`, `scopse`, `iat`, and `exp`

#
aaronpk
no need to bother with JWTs to make it work
#
[aciccarello]
I was thinking my token issuer could include something in the token but I guess it's keeping track anyway.
#
aaronpk
yeah you only need to do that if you really don't have a backend for token storage

Cool, I opened a discussion for adding this to Indiekit https://github.com/getindiekit/indiekit/discussions/811
