simpleauthority When liking/reposting/replying content and rendering that on one's own website, should the referenced content be displayed (as well as linked to) or just linked to? Currently my Like page requests the liked url, parses mf2, and displays the entry as well but not sure if this is "correct"?
#
simpleauthority Ah, I think I answered my own question - can use an h-cite for this. But maybe I won't quote the entire content, especially if it's long, so as to encourage people to go to the original instead.

[0x3b0b] https://indieweb.org/backfeed#Discussion , https://indieweb.org/reply-context#Issues , https://indieweb.org/quotation, and https://indieweb.org/response may be of interest. There's been a lot of thought about how to (or not to) present things other people wrote on your own site. Generally, I've seen people limit the amount quoted pretty severely in favor of expecting people to follow links; with more context being considered appropriate the more...

[0x3b0b] My site functions more as a single-user ActivityPub instance with Indieweb features than as an Indieweb blog that federates, so I also do a fair bit of boosting / sharing / reposting or whatever term of art one is most used to applying to the concept. My main feed looks enough like a person's profile on a Mastodon-like server (because that's essentially what it is) that I don't think I'm especially likely to run into much "why are you showing what...

[artlung] Anyone using "Dolt" -- https://github.com/dolthub/dolt -- "git for data" in their work? I'd never heard of it before yesterday.
#
[social] Interesting… I’ve not used Dolt, but I have it on my list of things to dig into. It looks a lot like what DuckDB has done, or a sub-set. I’m intrigued by the git commands.

tgagor artlung[d] as I see you around 😉 I like your "Likes" section. Can you share if you have any smart way to manage it? Or maybe it's just a typical post with metadata per link?

tgagor I still grieve after the Pocket and none of alternatives satisfies me. I was thinking about doing something similar, on my site (static/Hugo) for easy access from anywhere. I also want easy addition from anywhere (like from mobile). Easiest way would be to setup a mailbox for that, and fetch periodically in Github action. Yaml or Json for storage. I was wondering if I'm not over-engineering, but it's just a mish-mash pattern 😄

[Al_Abut] @tgagor I used to have something like that set up between my Kindle and Instapaper. This was years ago and I liked the experience most of the time, even if sometimes I did get a little frazzled and overwhelmed.
