btrem I've tweaked my 11ty ssg with directory data files to provide defaults in lots of scenarios. And yesterday, I discovered that I can post a simple note with no front matter whatsoever and still get a page, with a url, title, date, and body. I don't know if I want to rely on the file creation date to provide a post date, but still it was cool to watch it in action (on my dev site, not in production!).
