Loqiwell-known is literally the path "/.well-known/" under a domain and used as a standardized (literally a "well-known") location for discovering domain-wide meta-data, and is generally avoided by IndieWeb-related specs, instead preferring follow your nose discovery techniques and methods https://indieweb.org/.well-known
[artlung]Given the fact ATproto based sites can use either a well-known path or a dns record, curious what the mix is of how people verify domains there. I use dns record, myself, for the accounts I have on bsky.
[aciccarello]Yeah, I saw that. I think its interesting considering 11ty's maintainer kept it independent even when he worked at Netlify. But the organization seems more aligned which is good.
LoqiEleventy (abbreviated 11ty) is an open source JavaScript based static site generator that allows the user to select their own preferred template engine and theme, which in practice can and does enable use of microformats2 https://indieweb.org/11ty
[Trevor_Morris]It seems to all make sense. Fonts, components… now SSG "framework" to bring it all together. I remembered they did something to create the components (Web) Awesome project.
capjamesgI personally wouldn't host my website from a home server because of all of the networking configuration I would have to do, plus the real risk that the site gets spammed by AI crawlers and causes problems.
spamt0nI forgot to mention it because honestly I dont know a whole ton on the topic, and im still learning. I have family members in IT who helped me set up the website on my server, and one talked about setting up a cloudflared tunnel. Ill look more into it so I can set up another one, and ask that family member what they recommend.
