[tantek] the only reason JSON-LD is optional in AP/AS2 is because a bunch of us stood up and said no, the JSON-LD emperor has no clothes, so how about we make it optional so implementers/devs who are used to "just JSON" can actually have a chance of making something work (like they have with everything else "just JSON")
