[Jo] I wrote a blog post without a screen using a modified version of your setup: https://jamesg.blog/2026/05/07/writing-a-blog-post-without-a-screen

Honestly very impressive how little typos you made!

Very impressive. And reminds me of a very old trick I used to use back in the day: just turn the monitor off. Gets rid of any distraction to edit too soon. Helps you get stuff out of your head to a place where you can work on it later. There are some Markdown apps that can be configured to show you only the line you are working on.

hello, does anyone have any static site generator friendly way to turn your website into a fediverse account too
#
aks
i know about fed.brid.gy but i'd like to self-host my own thing
#
[capjamesg]
I use http://Brid.gy Fed with my static site.
#
[capjamesg]
I send http://Brid.gy Fed Webmentions from https://jamesg.blog/syndicated every time I publish a new post.
#
[capjamesg]
The posts are then listed on @jamesg.blog@jamesg.blog.

i have it also set up, but i'd like to have my own self-hosted version
#
[capjamesg]
Bridgy Fed is open source but it looks quite complicated to set up.
#

i guess i could self-host a gotosocial, then create some python glue-code to send/read webmentions

My intent is to today add information about this resource to the Wiki, but I wanted to share it here and see if anyone has thoughts. Theres a lot of stuff about accessibility but this is very focused on the HTML in a factual way that answers questions. Basically if you ever wonder what a screen reader might do, its often very hard, but this is a solid gem https://tetralogical.github.io/screen-reader-HTML-support/lookup/lookup.html

And freshly gardened all the time I might add, by one of the main contributors behind the `<main>` html element

The Tetralogical site and git reposstory is a great resource. Nothing beats testing it yourself but still, very useful. Gets updates with some consistency. I see stuff every few weeks a lot as I follow the repo. Mentioned at IWC eastern and a fresh. https://indieweb.org/events/2026-01-14-hwc-eastern and https://indieweb.org/events/2025-08-12-front-end-study-hall
