I think I have a race condition going on in my current comments receipt->display flow
#

So I'm using webmention.io for my "heavy lifting" when it comes to storing and validating webmentions, and I have it fire a webhook on my server when a new one is received
#

And, during my server's side of the webhook, I re-fetch the entire webmention feed for the page that was just mentioned, and the result of that API call seems to exclude whatever event the webhook is informing my server of?

looking at webmention.io source, it seems like the webhook is fired after a webmention is verified but before it is saved to the database, huh
#
gRegor
huh, interesting. does the webhook include the webmention info though?
#
gRegor
Or the status link for the mention?

Pretty sure it's after it's in the database since it includes a database id in the webhook
#
aaronpk
It happens async tho

finding static hosting is not a big deal
#
[KevinMarks]
Ana was sayign it's hard to find it in the EU ratehr than still primarily on US owned servers
#

ok, I added "https://www.statichost.eu/" to the "See Also" section of /web_hosting https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=112480&oldid=108076

gRegor: the webhook does include the details of the webmention that triggered it, so in theory I could add that to the set of mentions my server already knows about; but the hook is also fired for repeats and deletes, so the server would then have to consider those

the workaround i settled on was to delay the "query API and rebuild page" step by 5 seconds
