[snarfed] To answer your question about PDS in more detail… I’m spinning up new servers to host the PDS reference implementation. http://Micro.blog will automatically create PDS accounts, manage blob storage, etc. It’s working surprisingly well in early testing. The idea is that for brand new accounts, you could sign into Bluesky with http://username.micro.blog right away. It auto-configures the .well-known DID and all the ot

The big thing I haven’t done yet is account migration to another PDS. A little worried about that. 🙂

[manton] very cool!

[snarfed]
yeah migration feels scary but it generally works. I haven't heard experiences doing it in bulk though

[snarfed] Cool, I was just thinking for a user to migrate an individual account. I’m implementing a .car file download but not sure what else might be needed.

is there a clean way to say I want ellipsis from the left where needed? like foo/bar turning …o/bar instead of foob…

[manton] ATProto migration is generally online, users don't have to handle file import/export themselves

[snarfed] Ah, nice. I should go through this myself as a test.

pcarrier, you may be able to use "text-align:right" along with "text-overflow"

[snarfed] I noticed "pagination is disabled" on Bridgy Fed notifications — any chance you could enable it for logged in users? https://fed.brid.gy/web/tantek.com/notifications (I'm assuming LLM traffic is to blame)

BridgyFed++ for seamlessly federating replies to replies to my posts that it federated in the first place. So nice being able to use my own site to reply to replies on Mastodon etc rather than having to use a separate "app" or whatever.
