[schmarty] I wish I wasn't so distracted by _work_, haha. Firebug was a *revelation* when it came out.

[schmarty] I find it hard to overstate how much more tangible web development felt when you could inspect things.

[schmarty] I heard IE's debugging tools mentioned and, yeah, those were pretty good if you also had all of Visual Studio running and knew how to use _it's_ debugging tooling, haha.

[schmarty] For a similar experience, try debugging a web app in Safari on your iPhone using XCode's remote debugging. but also remove a bunch of the features 🙈 😂

[artlung] `alert()` is ... okay. And adding `background: red` and `border: 5px solid pink` to everything kind of works but it's all about the deployment environment you have. devtools of any sort are incredible.
