[tantek]there's no denying that "Dublin Core" as a "brand" has somehow survived over the years, despite having nearly zero practical impact / application / usefulness, so I guess that's a marketing success?
[artlung]I only know it because I was around a the time!. I did encounter client sites with mysterious "DC." prefixed meta tags which may have made me curious had I encountered them later.

[artlung]I feel struck by the overlap between the value system of "librarians" and people attracted to open web and indieweb values. Make the information available to whomever wants it! My blog post the other day where both Tracy D and Reilly mentioned "I also worked as a library clerk as a teen!" - Chris Aldrich and his card-system organizational stuff.
[social]I’ve done a lot of advising and mentoring with grad students in information science / library science programs. The iSchools have continually been digging at interesting problems.
