GWG: Sounds like a plan! I move in a few weeks so after that I am good to help schedule etc. Will be in Brooklyn (in manhattan now), but good for anywhere.

[capjamesg] - what’s the trick for turning the etherpad for an event into a wiki page? I can’t remember if that was a Loqi command or something else. I wanted to share the notes from the Photos session because one of the people I tagged as an example on my blog responded on Mastodon yesterday and sent a few dozen people my way.

Since Manuel added an Atom feed during Create-Day, I now also added his blog to my IWC BER 2025 list: https://feed.city/c/dan/l/IWC+BER+2025

For reference the command is:

!archive help
#
capjamesg
Oh that should have returned a help message.
#
[Al_Abut]
Oh weird, I went to the event page and it showed me the live etherpad, instead of the usual “here’s the link to where it’s been archived” or etc
#
[Al_Abut]
But thank you for digging that up, I’m going to share and try to get some new blood in for our photo popup
#
[Al_Abut]
I’ve brought Naz’s name up so many times, it’d be great to get him to show up live

[tantek]
did everyone who remote participated add themselves to the Remote section on /2025/Berlin ?
#
tantek.com
zachary_kai[d] did you make it to remote participate in IWC Berlin? I don't remember seeing you on the main Zoom but perhaps you were in one/some of the breakout sessions?

tantek_com[d]: I made it to the latter half of the intros and one session on Saturday, about extreme asset optimization, which was very helpful! Didn't get to attend the others, unfortunately.

[tantek]
that's great! I think I vaguely remember that from Saturday now. We did so much this weekend that it's all a bit of a blur. I'm going to have to go back and rewatch session videos myself 🙂

[tantek]: I'll get things uploaded when I can
#
GWG
I have them all.
#
GWG
I had 3-4 rooms set up, and was monitoring, so I know I missed somethings
#
[tantek]
[schmarty] took care of starting and stopping recording the demos session so that should be good too
#
GWG
I need to extract, rename, clip and upload the recordings

[tantek]
what is session facilitating
#
Loqi
Session facilitating refers to facilitating a brainstorming session at an IndieWebCamp event https://indieweb.org/session_facilitating
#
[tantek]
new steps for a successful session section — organizers please review (cc: [Joschi_Kuphal] [schmarty] GWG [Jo] [jeremycherfas]) https://indieweb.org/session_facilitating#Steps_for_a_more_successful_session
#
[tantek]
might be helpful to show/summarize as part of the Session Proposals session
#
[tantek]
helpful to have a checklist (even for us "experienced" folks), reduced cognitive load etc.
#
[Al_Abut]
Whatever you all did worked great. I had a much better time tuning in and participating this year. Berlin last year definitely got the enthusiasm across but I couldn’t make out the conversations as well.
#
[Al_Abut]
So thank you!
#
[tantek]
[Al_Abut] we were in a different "Main Room" this year than last year
#
[tantek]
that is very good feedback
#
[tantek]
confirms the new choice of Main Room and thus we're likely to re-use it for any future IWC Berlin events. now the challenge will be when to schedule the next one (because btconf is taking a break from Berlin)
#
[tantek]
Hey IndieWeb Berlin folks, if you think you might make it to Düsseldorf next year e.g. for btconf in April, please add yourself to the "Potential Dates:" section here: https://indieweb.org/Planning#D%C3%BCsseldorf with how well each date April 25…26 or May 2…3 work for you (+1/0/-1) [jeremycherfas] [Jo] [Joschi_Kuphal] GWG [Al_Abut] [schmarty]
#
[tantek]
if we can get quick consensus on a better date, then I'll create a "Tentative" event for that date and start looking for venues (with [me1850]’s help hopefully 🤞 )
