[artlung] Tested my personal Zoom account with a hard of hearing person who may attend a future FrESH. Seems like it worked fine with automatic captions. They worked well enough that we could have a conversation, share links, thoughts. A person who will be studying at a local community college web and design stuff soon.

[artlung] One thing I would like to do is to be able to put the etherpad link and a link to the events chat channel into the Zoom chat. Because newcomers often have that question of where the chat is and as Zoom starter I don't have confidence that when I put things in chat it's visible to newcomers and then subsequent joiners.

[artlung] there's a lot of api features here! https://developers.zoom.us/docs/api/meetings/#tag/in-meeting-features/patch/live_meetings/{meetingId}/chat/messages/{messageId} how well they work not sure. I have to check and see if my personal account level allows building stuff like this. My use case is pretty narrow - basically, for a person joined, I want them to get a dm that we are in the etherpad, or they can chat in the indieweb events
