schmartyhmm, doubling up is a good idea. the OMNI hotel is on the same block as the venue and looks to be ~$160/night and appears superficially to be the cheapest.
schmartyin my experience, most folks staying in hostels want to keep to themselves. so, it is awkward being in close quarters with so many people, but pretty managable.
