schmarty!tell tantek doing a live TWITIWAE at summit sounds like fun! watching me record it live like i do at home would be pretty weird (each short segment is recorded individually, throat clearing and coughs are left out). but some "live version" is certainly possible

schmartyi'd enjoy doing a full live recording at IWS if folks are interested. i'd prep the script ahead of time so worst case it's ~10 uncomfortable minutes. i'm sure i'd get a lot of good feedback about it! ;}

schmartyi think i simply uploaded the wrong file. that explains a lot, since i remember having to edit the name of that episode by hand. i thought it was a typo in the metadata but it was likely just the wrong file >_<

[tantek]4.1 for page updates, e.g. instead of “The "Content delivery network" page was updated with ...” how about: “On the subject of "Content deliver network", ...”
[tantek]5. For additional new pages that you’d prefer to skip defining in the podcast, perhaps a catch all in the “new this week” section like: “Also new this week: finsta and rinsta, see indieweb.org for about those”

For upcoming events, perhaps split into explicit calls to action of “Join us in person next week at the following events!” And maybe something about indieweb events are for all levels, whether you want to start your own site, push the boundaries of the indieweb, or just have an interest in cutting edge independent publishing
[tantek]6.1 for further out events (more than a week), perhaps “Save the dates for: ...”, and maybe for every IWC/IWS, note how many going already (if any), including any notable speakers, and encourage people to book their travels and hotels (recommendations and details on the wiki page of course)
[tantek]That’s if for now off the top of my head. Would love to hear your thoughts on the general themes of those, and what other ideas you’ve had over the past year for making changes in the podcast.

schmartyI like the idea of reducing repetition regarding mentioning the wiki and edits to it rather than focusing on the content of the edits. There have been a few times when I’ve collapsed that language in the past and it sounds cleaner to me, if somewhat more time consuming to write.
schmartyRegarding events, I’m interested in giving that whole section an overhaul. Each episode dedicated a lot of time to explaining HWC and on calls to action about them. Probably time to rethink those.
schmartyI also like the idea of a super concise section for new terms that would not have “made the cut” because they are stub dfn pages. It’s a fun way to get listeners to check the actual newsletter
schmartyI have few hard constraints on it other than wanting to keep each episode at about 10 minutes and being wary of adding any time consuming steps in the script writing process, which takes the most time because it is a lot of reading and summarizing.
schmartyaaronpk: I have a couple of markup changes in mind. I’d like to play with parsing the newsletter itself and doing some automation of the summaries. If that works well I bet some of it would make sense to push upstream to the newsletter itself.
