aaronpk jgmac1106: ironically I think the term "generations" might only be an appropriate term for gen 1

jgmac1106 yeah I know in the literacy world we use tiers when thinking of vocabulary

jgmac1106 so that makes sense the word “generations” itself signiffies membership within a specific discipline

jgmac1106 Now that I think about I might even like the word tier means you can climb up

jgmac1106 actually spokes might be better, that way you can climb up but bring the unique skill set from whatever field

jgmac1106 But you don’t want top be out on Twiiter having people label themselves as “I guess Iam 2nd generartion/3rd generation” It is self defeating

aaronpk I've been working on a different model to describe the situation based on other communities where end users use products built on standards but where even the product developers don't necessarily get involved with making the standards

jgmac1106 or maybe draw 1 around the standards but have them overlap against the 2 and 3 which represent different communitie
