jgmac1106@schmarty thx for volunteering! Will no more about venue dates by Tuesday. If you are at MIT am halfway between Boston and NYC. Can figure something out
jgmac1106Didn’t know about the Open Hardware, will look into that as well. I forget her name but the person who found the last few venues is starting at Harvard and wants to get IWC going in Cambridge again edventually
jgmac1106[gwg] I was looking at the calendar for that. Have friends at MIT who want to get involved and [schmarty] if you and [jgarber] want to DC I have a few leads on venues, but probably be spring for those, let’s just pull off NYC, then the rest of the seaboard
[jgmac1106]@gwg [schmarty] what if we did do an IndieWeb Train next year? Start in Bmore go to Beantown, Pop uo HWC in a few cities along the way . Then, then.l, we get the band back together.
schmarty[m]i was a brief part of a Baltimore-to-Boston hackers-on-a-train type thing. I got off in NYC. i don't even remember what the event was about 😂
schmarty[m]aaronpk: hmm. /this-week section for IndieNews this week caught a bunch of old posts from notiz.blog. Also, while IndieNews itself is separated into language, the IndieNews section on /this-week just mushes them all together. it's a little confusing.
jgmac1106!tell aaronpk @kathiiberens (Twitter) is a professor at Portland State University starting to IndieWeb, could be in to securing Summit venue early enough for visas an travel vouchers

jgmac1106yeah we talked about it at /leaders it is hard to get the visa and travel assistance sorted for Summit without months in advace….It is hard finding free space months in advance, but hopefully we meet in Berlin
jgmac1106I think part of the reason never spent time in EU, is this place so big, I would often just hop in a car or stick out my thumb and drive all over US when I was younger, couple months ago, did ta trip to Vegas to help an artist friend. That was 40 hours of straight driving
jgmac1106yeah when friends visit from EU and they are in Wasington DC or further south always suprised folks think nothing of a 5-6 hour drive to go see a friend. I love road trips

jgmac1106the ish is classes still being canceled, and they do not have security on campus on Sunday, we can either dur R-Sat which screws you, or move campus on Sunday (block away) but she is meeting with facilities tomorrow
jgmac1106I prefer later in September just bc I know the earlier in Sept the more a shitshow campuses can be, plus time to beg for sponsorship and stuff, but if more +1 14-16 we can look at that. Works better for [gwg] as he has to travel on Sunday for religous holiday
jgmac1106I may just do a teaser post on my page to see who is interested for a count. I know signups are deliberatley difficult but it would be nice to gauge interest without requiring folks to figure out how to join wiiki
schmarty[m]jgmac1106: most IWCs get a webpage of their own (e.g. 2018.indieweb.org/Baltimore) and folks are able to register with ti.to if they don't want to RSVP from their own website)
jgmac1106sknebel: after Summit I might offer a “Zero-Day” or encourage folks to attend the closest HWC to figure out how to register for wiki and set up /chat-names
