!tell sknebel,gRegorLove, aaronpk Are we ready for depend on https://indieweb.org/Organizers/event_pages#Venue-specific_HWC_pages_proposal for February? If not, we should create current date-specific pages for February and see if the new way can be ready for March. Maybe add updated status on where we're at to that section on the wiki? Thanks!

Of primary interest here, Matt Thompson discusses his concept of “Breaking the Ratio” a take on the idea of being ratioed on Twitter. His concept immediately brings to mind a few broad ideas: [more...] @mthomps @alexismadrigal #IndieWeb https://boffosocko.com/2019/01/24/radio-atlantic-how-to-fix-social-media-the-atlantic/

And now I have the IndieWeb to show my stuff. To the person who laughed when I said I have an interest in learning photography just because I'm blind, I have #SeeingAi, and my #iPhone camera with #VoiceOver has facial recognition. I'm gonna get good at… https://www.starshipchangeling.net/2019/01/25/198/

hi....is there a way to bypass linkedin "authwall"?
jgmac1106 joined the channel
#
jgmac1106
Hey sunil1 you can use one of their APIS the latest however requires you to reauthroize tokes every 30 days, the deprecated apis work still with less features
#
jgmac1106
but that is more of a dev question, there is a chaannel, and if you mean circumventing the auth a company put into place in violation of that company’s ToS…this is the wrong channel in general, but you can use their LinkedIn’s latest APIs, I syndicate there with Known
#
sunil1
thanks jgmac1106 .........is there any website or article ?
#
jgmac1106
.uumm let me see, from what I know is from using the SNAP plugin on WordPress and then reading about Bridgy…decided updating token every 30 days wasn’t worth it….but more and more of my students migrating there and keeping a professional identity
#
jgmac1106
though its becoming a cesspool of drip capmaigns in the form of social media
#
sunil1
is there a way to view linkedin without logging in?
#
jgmac1106
just someone’s public profile I think
#
sunil1
as related to my work i need to use linkedin for searching
#
jgmac1106
then you should consider joining
#
jgmac1106
you can search for names: https://www.linkedin.com/
#
jgmac1106
and find public profiles
#
sunil1
i had account but when we use too much they blocked it
#
sunil1
after we open few times they will block the id :(
#
jgmac1106
but real deep searching requires paid plans, professional or sales navigator,…again this isn’t a place to find out how to circumvent a companieds ToS, if they are blociking you reach out to their customer service…if you want to figure out how to publish content on your site and send to LinkedIn we can do that but I think for what you want to do you might need to find help elsewehere
#
sunil1
ok.....thanks alot jgmac1106

Static site generators are programs that take a set of flat text files on disk and transforms them into a set of static html files ready to be served by a standard web server, or some variation of this example https://indieweb.org/SSG

↩️ There's more around but to be honest; building on top of them is going to result in the Embrace, Extend and Extinguish approach. The #IndieWeb has a concept of private #Webmentions which can help with sending one-to-one messages

newsletter looks pretty good
#
[tantek]
only thing I'm wondering about is it's the last newsletter before Vlissingen is supposedly happening and there's only been one update to the page recently: https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=2019%2FVlissingen&type=revision&diff=55881&oldid=55337 - so from that we assume it's still happening but perhaps smaller in scope?
