[tantek] Eventbrite always felt cheap (badly) due to the cutesy misspelling of bright

[tantek] “Google Calendar” is a good name but only for Google running it as a service. The software itself doesn’t have its own name

[tantek] There’s the branch of naming by portmanteaus or fragments thereof but often those are already “taken”
#
[tantek] Back when there was Upcoming, there was also a service called EVDB, trying to be for events what IMDB was for movies
#
[tantek] For some reason the name “Eventable” popped in my mind (as an idea, haven’t searched if it pre-exists) but it can also be misread as “even table”

[tantek] Apparently it is a good name because the .com is literally for nearly the same purpose!

[tantek] I don’t think you want anything “calendar” unless it actually lets you make a *calendar* of stuff for you
