Not sure who has credentials for it besides maybe GWG or aaronpk, but it might be worth putting a note on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCco4TTt7ikz9xnB35HrD5gQ/about that future videos can be found on the Internet Archive account with a link. May be worth putting a link to https://indieweb.org/videos_about_the_indieweb in there as well.

Not credentials, but a bunch of us are admins on the channel

aaronpk: Wasn't someone going to move the videos? I forget who volunteered
#

I don't remember any plan for moving old videos
#

all we agreed is that new videos would be posted on archive.org

Someone in Australia, but from Yorkshire, today said they liked HWC Barnsley when I suggested they might enjoy reading about IndieWeb
#

they are a writer. I'm trying to get some of the groups I'm already a member of, professional, enthusiast & grassroots to see if we can do some things

I'm making decisions about services (Mastodon v. Pleroma, e.g.) and instances ( .social vs. my own) and other hosting decisions before knowing what the universe is really like in these apps, but the goal of runningmost of it myself. This cause me all kinds of confusion. The question of the day is: if one runs a Pleroma instance federated with other Mastodon servers, would it be fair to say "I'm on Mastodon @aaron@aaronklemm.me"? Is that
#
[Aaron_Klemm]
effectively the case...is the federation that extensive?
[dave] joined the channel
#
[dave]
Personally I would say "I'm on the fediverse as {name}" -- but yes, Pleroma and Mastodon instances should be interoperable enough to say that

I often say "follow me from mastodon at @aaronpk@aaronparecki.com" so that I'm not technically incorrect :-P

GWG, yes the plan is to move the videos from YouTube to Internet Archive over time. And no, there is no “someone was going to”, it’s a backfill task that’s up for grabs

[tantek]: I thought someone had volunteered. Might be misremembering
#
GWG
But I thought about jumping in
#
[tantek]
GWG, great! Go ahead and add it to /to-do , note that you’re working on it but wouldn’t mind help (presumably)

GWG, incremental is a good strategy
#
[tantek]
Be sure to put that in your /to-do edit as a recommended approach so people don’t have to feel they have to be completist
#

I may regret watching some old ones

I may wish we tackled some things

ok, I added "https://indieweb.org/chat-names" to the "See Also" section of /chat https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=68472&oldid=66233
#
[LewisCowles]
I added this because I went, chat->discuss->chat-names
#
[LewisCowles]
I’d sooner have gone chat->chat-names
#
aaronpk
What is chat
#
Loqi
chat is informal messaging offered by numerous services, a few of which interoperate or bridge with each other, and also a set of brainstorms for what an amazing indieweb friendly chat web app/site could do https://indieweb.org/chat
#
aaronpk
i forgot that was a separate page

Makes sense though

Is there standard way to find IndieWeb people in one’s area? Meetups or such?
#
[Aaron_Klemm]
Excellent. Nothing in my area but glad to see the camps/conferences/etc are on the regular. I will make travel plans one day!
#
GWG
[Aaron_Klemm]: Where is that?
#
[Aaron_Klemm]
Kinda leads to my next question: are there efforts to catalog all the known sites/people in the indieweb? Like cataloging XFN or some other social graph?
#
aaronpk
what is indiemap?
#
Loqi
indie map is a public IndieWeb social graph and dataset, made by Ryan Barrett and launched at IndieWeb Summit 2017 https://indieweb.org/indiemap
#
[Aaron_Klemm]
I’d like to query that!
#
[Aaron_Klemm]
Indieweb sorry

I keep meaning to add webmention support to my blog but instead I spend my time on dumb things like a Duolingo parody that teaches you how to speak "Karen"
