I didn't know Signal had video

what is Jitsi?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "Jitsi" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Jitsi is ____", a sentence describing the term)

What is Jitsi Meet?
#
Loqi
Jitsi Meet is a free open-source self-hostable video conferencing solution that was occasionally used for virtual HWCs and IWCs https://indieweb.org/Jitsi_Meet

↩️ !! I didn't either until you said that
#
@jackyalcine
↩️ Yo, I don't know if you remember me from linking in person. This is trash. Do you have enough access to build an archive of your content from your site? https://www.facebook.com/help/1701730696756992 Also, I'd be down to help make a more resilient site - IndieWeb style

I need a feed just of jacky's Twitter aliases 😂
#
jacky
lmfao
#
jacky
I've strongly debated doing this tbh
#
[tantek]
it'd be kinda fun to own your silo-profile-edits
#
[tantek]
and POSSE that sh too, I mean it's in the API
#
jacky
for sure
#
jacky
I'd have to do a bit externally from my site (like some little tool that'll point to twitter to change it and then update my site's h-card)
#
[tantek]
we do have a notion of using MicroPub to edit the h-card of your home page
#
[tantek]
what we don't have is a model of how to represent your silo profiles, but on your own sites
#
[tantek]
wondering if this a dev chat or a indieweb chat
#
jacky
this is kinda dev-y
#
jacky
tbh how I was thinking of doing something like that (if I had to abstract it) would be to check the rel=mes for one's site that are associated to that h-card and use that to determine how to apply diffs to their silo profiles
#
[tantek]
alrighty dev it is

@nagasaki45
I'm wondering, what's the simplest way for non-technical people to get microbloging and still own their content? No command line, no registration w/ multiple services, simple config, no lock-in. @peepethApp? @indiewebcamp?

#
@jgmac1106
↩️ I would say @microdotblog @pineblog Does require payment so that may violate your definition of lock-in but it all exports HTML so it fits for me aren't looking for #IndieWeb building blocks included then Tumblr, way easier and more set for microblogging than @wordpressdotcom

↩️ Thanks! Payment is fine as long as you can take your content with you somewhere else if you want. Looks like @microdotblog fits in that sense.
